Waterborne coatings, as the name suggests, are water soluble coatings. Therefore, most of the additives are organic compounds and are volatile organic compounds. It inevitably releases VOCs. However, the proportion of organic volatiles in aqueous coatings is relatively small compared to solvent-based coatings. The content of organic volatiles in waterborne coatings is about 10-15%.
